United Way Seeks Volunteers
UBC United Way organizers are gearing up for the annual fundraising
drive that aims to raise $400,000 during a campaign that kicks off
in the third week of September.
UBC's campaign, one of the largest in the Lower Mainland, is still
looking for volunteers.
"We look for people who are energetic, committed to achieving
the goals of the campaign, and are willing to put in about 35 hours
of their time throughout the eight-week campaign," says UBC
Campaign Chair Deborah Austin.
Volunteers receive exposure to a wide variety of UBC students,
faculty and staff and gain valuable skills in public speaking, organization,
and project planning.
The United Way is a charitable organization that addresses social
issues in the Lower Mainland through its more than 100 member agencies
and affiliates.
