United funds edge to goal
Response phenomenal, says campaign chair
Fifteen days and counting -- that's all the time left to make this
year's United Way fundraising goal of $395,000. But with $336,000
already raised, organizers are confident that UBC will hit the target.
"So far the campaign has been a phenomenal success," says Michelle
McCaughran, UBC campaign chair. "UBC's United Way campaign is one
of the largest in the Lower Mainland and despite the cancellation
of this year's kick-off breakfast due to the Sept. 11 terrorist
attacks, people have come up with creative ways to raise funds."
